About us

The Parliamentary Digital Service (PDS) is a joint department of the House of Commons and House of Lords, providing information and digital services to Parliament. 

What do we do?

Our team of over 450 dedicated and professional digital colleagues provides technology and intranet services to all parliamentary staff. We’re also responsible for the strategic direction of Parliament’s digital offering through its Digital Strategy. Day to day, we deliver and manage Parliament’s digital platforms, including the website.  

This includes: 

  • designing and developing software to support the work of Parliament
  • running the Parliament website and intranet
  • keeping Parliament cyber secure
  • managing the parliamentary network to keep our systems running
  • providing data and enterprise architecture services 
  • helping colleagues get the most out of technology through training and engagement 
  • project managing and planning for current and future technology needs
  • ensuring everyone has the right software to work safely and effectively 
  • providing computer equipment and accessories, including 24/7 technical support
