Behind the scenes, the House of Commons Service is made up of more than 3,000 employees who support and facilitate the smooth day to day running of the House. They provide professional services to Members of Parliament, their staff, and the wider parliamentary community.

We offer a wide variety of interesting and unique opportunities across a variety of areas. The roles we offer range from administrative and executive roles to key onsite support staff. We look for a variety of different skills and experience, both broad and specialist.

As well as our professional opportunities we also offer work experience and apprenticeships at various points of the year.

Diversity & Inclusion at Parliament

The House of Commons and House of Lords have established Workplace Equality Networks (WENs) that provide support, increase awareness and create an open forum for people from all backgrounds to come together to learn and share their experiences.  The WENs are open to all employees who support and champion the missions and objectives of the network. 

ParliABLE: in support of those who consider themselves to have a disability (visible and non-visible).  

ParliGENDER: in support of gender equality. The aim is to achieve gender equality across Parliament.     

ParliREACH: in support of increasing awareness and appreciation of race, ethnicity and cultural heritage in Parliament.
