Welsh Affairs Committee

Implications for Wales of the EU referendum result inquiry

Inquiry status: Concluded

Due to the general election on 8 June 2017 the Committee has now completed this inquiry. Following the dissolution of Parliament on 3 May 2017, all Select Committees will cease to exist until after the general election. If an inquiry on this subject is held in the future, the Committee may refer to the evidence already gathered as part of this inquiry.

Scope of the inquiry

The EU referendum saw 52.5% of voters in Wales choose to leave the EU. It is still early days for the new Government, in terms of negotiating the UK’s exit from the EU. However, it is important that Wales has a voice during this process, and that the implications for Wales are examined.
