The Government has published updated Safer Transport guidance for passengers. The requirement to wear a face covering does not apply if you have a reasonable excuse not to wear one. Reasonable excuses include if you need to eat, drink, or take medication. In these circumstances you can remove your face covering. Exemptions are also in place for children under the age of 11, people with physical or mental illness of impairment, or disability, as well as other groups.
