Weddings and civil partnerships
Steeped in history, the Palace of Westminster provides a unique setting for a wedding celebration. Our impressive venues are exceptionally versatile and ideal for any wedding celebration, from a civil ceremony to an intimate reception or lavish wedding breakfast, we have the facilities to suit.
The House of Commons has two venues licensed for solemnisation of marriages and civil partnerships:
- Ceremony Capacity: 150 pax
- Ceremony Capacity: 60 pax
Holding your wedding ceremony elsewhere? You can hold the post ceremony celebration in the Palace of Westminster without the need to have the ceremony here. Contact us for further details.
Conditions of hire
Charges and availability
- £2,000 (excl. VAT) for the Members' Dining Room
- £1,000 (excl. VAT) for the Jubilee Room
- Civil Ceremonies can take place between 10:30am and 4:30pm on Saturdays with the latest ceremony being 4:00pm
- Both venues are wheelchair accessible
How to book
Contact the House of Commons events team on 020 7219 3090 or firstname.lastname@example.org to place a provisional booking for your civil ceremony.
Once a provisional booking has been made, contact the Westminster Register Office on 020 7641 7500 in order to check their availability.
The Register Office accepts provisional bookings and will also allow you to give formal notice of your civil ceremony up to 12 months before the day.
Chapel of St. Mary Undercroft
The Chapel is not available for use by members of the public.
