At the recent 2019 Group Travel Awards, Houses of Parliament was presented with the award for ‘Best Company or Venue offering Guided Tours’.

Elena Talmon and Joanna Freeman from UK Parliament’s Visitor & Retail Services team received the award from television presenter Michaela Strachan at the 23rd edition of the Group Travel Awards at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London on 7 June.

Competition for the award was strong with the other finalists being BBC Tours, Canterbury Guided Tours, City & Village Tours, Emmerdale Village Tours, Groups Direct, Royal Albert Hall, and Shakespeare’s Globe.

The Group Travel Awards were voted for by readers of Group Travel Organiser magazine between 25 November 2018 and 25 January 2019.

Houses of Parliament was also a finalist in the ‘Best Attraction for Group Visits - London’ category.

About winning this award, Amy Pitts, Director of Visitor & Retail Services at UK Parliament commented:

“We appreciate the continued support from group travel organisers for our tours and are particularly delighted to win the ‘Best Company or Venue offering Guided Tours’ award for 2019. In the past year we have restructured our guided tour delivery, updated our self-guided multimedia tours and moved the servicing of our group ticketing to See Tickets. It is to the credit of all our team that this has been achieved whilst operating in a busy working building and a fast moving political environment.”

More information for group travel organisers wishing to book tours at UK Parliament is available on the Discover Summer 2019 and Groups and travel trade pages. Tickets are now available for tours running Monday to Saturday throughout August.
