Announcing ‘Mouthpiece’; two a-cappella song tours inside the Houses of Parliament taking place on the evenings of Saturday 14 November and Saturday 21 November 2015.
Tickets for these special live performances, part of Parliament Week 2015, are released for sale at 10am on Thursday 1 October 2015. To book tickets please call +44 (0)20 7219 4114.
‘Mouthpiece’ is a musical tour through the House of Commons, House of Lords and Westminster Hall, which will be interspersed with beautiful, a-cappella songs. The lyrics have been inspired by interviews with parliamentarians and parliamentary staff and offer audiences an illuminating insight into the 'human' side of Parliament and the people who work here today.
This exciting new promenade piece, which is part oratorio, part documentary, is the creation of composer-director Jennifer Bell and artist Tom Marshman. Historic details will be interwoven with moving, funny and fascinating personal accounts, whilst exploring what it means for each of us to have a political voice.
Tickets for ‘Mouthpiece’ are limited and must be booked in advance. They will be priced at £25 for adults and £20 for over 60s and students (with a maximum of 10 tickets per booking) and the event arrival time will be 6pm.
‘Mouthpiece’ is a part of Parliament's 2015 anniversaries programme ‘Parliament in the Making’ and has been developed by Jennifer Bell Company in association with Parliament Week, Arts Council England and Tobacco Factory Theatres.
