Houses of Parliament was awarded ‘Best Guided Tour’ at the Group Leisure & Travel Awards in Milton Keynes on 9 October.
Joanna Freeman and Ian Lacey accepted the award on behalf of the UK Parliament team from rugby legend Martin Bayfield and Mike Hall representing the sponsor Cruise & Maritime Voyages.
Readers of Group Leisure & Travel magazine were invited to vote for the awards in the May and June issues. The other finalists in the ‘Best Guided Tour’ category were Arley Hall & Gardens, Bletchley Park, Discover Newmarket, The London Dungeon and The Original Tour.
This award completes a significant group travel ‘double’ in 2019 as Houses of Parliament also won ‘Best Company or Venue offering Guided Tours’ at the Group Travel Awards in June.
Matt Morgan, Head of Visitor Services at UK Parliament commented:
“I’m really pleased we’ve won ‘Best Guided Tour’ at the Group Leisure and Travel Awards, especially against such strong competition. This is fantastic recognition for the excellent tours that our tour guides deliver and all the hard work the UK Parliament team put into creating an amazing visitor experience. Thank you to the readers of Group Leisure & Travel for voting for us. Your continued support of our tours is appreciated.”
