Big Ben and the Elizabeth Tower tours
During the conservation work on Big Ben, we have paused tours of Parliament's clock tower.
The Elizabeth Tower, known to many as Big Ben, is currently undergoing the most extensive conservation project since it was built in Victorian times. During this work, the Elizabeth Tower is closed to visitors.
While we are working to on this much-loved building, you can still have a look at our work from Westminster Bridge and the other side of the Thames. The top of the spire and one of the restored clock dials are now visible so you can have a sneak peek at what we’re up to.
We are looking forward to reopening Elizabeth Tower. If you are too, please sign up to our Big Ben newsletter and be among the first to know when we are ready to accept bookings for tours again.
For more about visiting and online content, go to the Visit section of our website. You'll be able to find information on our online talks programme, taking place throughout 2021.
