Draft affirmative

Selected letter D

Draft affirmative is the term used to describe an SI that is laid in draft, but cannot be made into law (signed by the minister) unless the draft is approved by both Houses following a debate (or the Commons alone for financial SIs).

This is the most common type of affirmative instrument.
