Response
This information is held by the House of Commons. The Parliamentary Digital Service, who provide the House of Commons with ICT equipment and services, hold records about the numbers of different types of equipment they have purchased and which customer group they are purchased for. This information is split by fiscal calendar year.
• IT purchased 2018/19
• IT purchased 2019/20
• IT purchased 2020/21
• IT purchased 2021 (1 April 2021 to 17 September 2021)
Please note the following in relation to the data:
• Items under the ‘External’ category are ordered for organisations such as the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and political parties. While the Parliamentary Digital Service places orders for this equipment, it is paid for by the organisation which receives it.
• Items used by Members’ staff are not allocated to them, but they are instead allocated to a Member who remains responsible for them. This is why Members’ staff do not appear as a customer group in the data attached.
• Items returned by Members, such as after elections, are reused by House of Commons Administration staff where possible. These are only counted once in the data attached, under the original allocation to a Member.
