We have interpreted the phrase ‘Pay Committee' to mean the Senior Renumeration Committee, membership of which comprises of the Commons Executive Board (CEB) and is chaired by an External appointee.
This information is held by the House of Commons.
Details of the membership of CEB can be found on our parliamentary webpages.
For the purposes of openness and transparency, we publish the salaries of the CEB, in pay bands of £5,000, on our website.  This is carried out annually, and can be accessed on our parliamentary pages. It is also published in our Annual Accounts.
As the information you request is reasonably accessible to you otherwise than under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), your request is refused. In refusing your request the House is applying the exemption set out in section 21 (1) and (2) (a) of the FOIA. This is an absolute exemption and the public interest test does not apply.
The most recent information, for the financial year 2018/19 is due to be published in the autumn. Until the information is published it is exempt from the provisions of section 1(1)(b) of the FOI Act (the right of access to the information) by virtue of the exemption set out in section 22 (1) of the same Act (the exemption for information held by the public authority with a view to its publication at some future date (whether determined or not)). While there is a public interest in the publication of information relating to [insert details], we have concluded that this is outweighed by both the public interest in the routine disclosure of this information and the achievement of this publication by the focusing of the significant resources required to process the data in the manner required while achieving best value for money.
