Response
1) Please can you tell me how many MPs have not completed their ‘valuing everyone’ training, and how many this is of the total?
3) Please can you break the figure in your answer to question 1 down by party?
and
4) If possible, please can you provide the names of those MPs who have not yet completed their ‘valuing everyone’ training?
In the first instance please note that as part of the independent review of the ICGS, and as agreed by the House of Commons Commission, Valuing Everyone seminars have been updated, refreshed and replaced with a new seminar for Members called ‘Behaviour Code: Why it matters’. Furthermore, at the time of your request the original Valuing Everyone training is no longer available for Members to undertake.
This said, the information you have requested is held by the House of Commons. As of 23 March 2023, there are 53 out of 650 Members who have not completed their Valuing Everyone training. We also hold the names of these Members, broken down by political party. They can also be divided into the following statuses:
• ‘Wait-listed’: List of Members informed of upcoming sessions when they are made available. Members are generally added onto the waiting list when they have attempted to book onto the training but sessions available are not suitable to their schedule.
• ‘Not Attended’: Member is neither on the waiting list nor booked onto an upcoming session.
• ‘Has attended “Behaviour Code: Why it matters”’: Member has attended refreshed course instead of the original Valuing Everyone training.
2) Of those who haven’t completed the training, how many are a) men and b) women?
This information is held by the House of Commons. As of 23 March 2023, there are 41 male MPs and 12 female MPs who have not completed this training.
