    This information is held by the House of Commons. The numbers of people undertaking apprenticeships with the House for the past five years, up to the date of your request, are as follows:
    • 2020             currently 50 apprentice (this will increase later in the year).
    • 2019             54 apprentices
    • 2018             11 apprentices
    • 2017             10 apprentices
    • 2016             10 apprentices
  3. Please disclose the number of apprentices employed by Members of Parliament in each of the last 5 years.
    This information is not held by the House of Commons as Members of Parliament directly employ their staff, including any apprentices they may wish to employ.
    You may wish to consider contacting the individual Members to ask for the information you seek, contact details are available on our parliamentary website.  However, Members of Parliament are not public authorities for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act.  This means that they are not obliged to respond to requests made under the Act.  Similarly, the Act does not apply to political parties.
    You may also wish to contact the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA). IPSA is responsible for paying MPs' salaries, processing expenses claims and supplying contracts to Members' staff.
