Food items (2020)
Request
For “all food items procured during the following period 1 July 2019 – 1 July 2020” please provide:
1) A list of each food item by name;
2) The quantities procured
3) The supplier for each for item procured;
4) Procurement date for each food item;
5) Food item serving location (if available) – Which of the cafes, restaurants and bars were the items served in;
6) Number of people served in total at the Houses of Parliament; each day; each month.
Response
Please note initially that our response only deals with catering venues for which the House of Commons is responsible. Some venues are the responsibility of the House of Lords, which is a separate public authority for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act. You may wish to consider forwarding your request to the House of Lords.

Specific information about which of the listed foods are served in which venues is not held by the House of Commons.
The House has 16 catering venues, plus a range of banqueting, event and meeting rooms for which we may cater. Foods are purchased centrally and issued in accordance with the requirements of the various outlets. Some items may go to one venue and used to make dishes which might ultimately be transferred for sale in another venue, most commonly to reduce waste.
However, it may help you to know that sample menus from our main outlets can be found on our transparency pages on the parliamentary website.
6) Number of people served in total at the Houses of Parliament; each day; each month.
The House of Commons holds a the number of transactions recorded by our payment systems in the venues.
