The Speaker’s Advisory Committee on Works of Art provides an annual report to the Finance and Services Committee at the end of each financial year.

The annex of the report sets out an itemised list of works of art commissioned and purchased by the House of Commons over the last financial year.  We have noticed that the line regarding the portrait of the Countess of Oxford and Asquith should read:

Portrait of the Countess of Asquith and Oxford
Oil on Canvas by Philip de Laszlo
[the purchase price was £11,700 including fees; £5,850 was contributed by the Speaker’s Art Fund]

The Speaker’s Advisory Committee on Works of Art publishes its informal notes after each meeting, including financial details of completed commissions and recent acquisitions.
