Following the change to the style of the order paper on May 9, 2013, please can you provide the following under the terms of the FoI Act.

  • What is the total cost of the redesign for the Commons order paper for the 2013/14 session?
  • Who took the decision to authorise any cost?
  • Details of discussions/communications about the redesign.

Response

  • What is the total cost of the redesign for the Commons order paper for the 2013/14 session?
    The total cost of the project was £30,250.
  • Who took the decision to authorise any cost?
    The project was approved by the Parliamentary ICT Advisory Board, through existing authorisation procedures.
  • Details of discussions/communications about the redesign.
    The redesign project was discussed with the Speaker and Deputy Speakers and communicated to the Chairs of the Administration and Procedure Committees, the Leader of the House and the Government and Opposition Whips.  Communication with Members was carried out by way of  e-newsletters, intranet news, email, letters in the hard copy Vote Bundle distribution, information in the Vote Office and a stall in Portcullis House Atrium on the launch date. Information on the project was communicated by email, over the intranet and in face-to-face meetings with groups of staff who contribute to and answer queries from the public on the Order Paper.
