In the first instance, please note that the House of Commons is not part of Her Majesty’s Government.  We are a separate body that forms part of the UK’s legislature and not the Executive (the Government).  We are also a separate authority in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

We do not hold information about the cost to the UK Government of Brexit to date, and suggest that you redirect your request to the relevant authority, which may be the Department for Exiting the European Union (‘DExEU’).

It may help you to know that some teams in the House of Commons are currently working on matters relating to Brexit.  Most notably, these are the House of Commons Library, who prepare research material and briefing packs for Members and the Exiting the European Union Committee, which scrutinises the work of DexEU. The House of Commons does not hold details of costs of this specific work, as we do not disaggregate these costs from departmental totals.
