You asked for a list of all IT loan equipment issued to MPs after the 2015 General Election that was not returned by MPs who were either defeated or stood down at the election in June 2017, to include the name of the Member who was originally allocated the equipment and the estimated value. Some of this information is held by the House of Commons.
Please note the following:
- The data represents a snapshot in time. Efforts to retrieve equipment from Members who were defeated or who stood down in 2017 are ongoing with discussions still taking place. This does mean that the figures are dynamic and will change.
- Well over 1000 items have been returned to us.
- The asset return process is completed once our centralised hardware database has been updated. Before this, items may be in transit, with our supplier, at our offsite depot, awaiting collection, or awaiting security processes.
Information on the estimated value of this equipment is not held. To create an estimate we would have to ascertain when the asset was purchased and how much was paid for it at that time. Note that prices fluctuate over a Parliament and that many items included an additional warranty. Estimating a total cost would also involve calculating depreciation for each type of item.
