The House of Lords is a separate public authority for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and to get information relating to power cuts in their locations, you may wish to consider forwarding your request to them.

Some information is held by the House of Commons.

While we do not log ‘power cuts’ in their own category, we hold information that includes information about maintenance jobs and incidents on the parliamentary estate related to ‘power’, for the time periods specified.

The names and contact numbers of staff members working for the House of Commons have been redacted from this data in order to prevent them from being identified. This information is because this information is exempt by virtue of section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), as disclosure of this information to the public generally, in the House’s view, would not be consistent with the data protection principles in Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulations. This is an absolute exemption and the public interest test does not apply.
