    Please note that the House of Commons and the House of Lords are separate public authorities for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). However, the information held by the House includes Electricity used in the Palace of Westminster which is shared between the House of Commons and the House of Lords. We are unable to disaggregate usage by each House from this information and so this answer includes information relating to both Houses of Parliament.

    The House holds information on gas and electricity billing for 01 July 2018 to 31 March 2019. This is because billing information is collected by the House at the end of the financial year. Information for 01 April 2019 to 30 June 2019 will therefore be available after the end of the current financial year.
    Please note that some buildings on the parliamentary estate are used solely by the House of Commons and we are billed the total amount. Other buildings are shared between the House of Commons and the House of Lords and for these, the billing is split with the House of Commons paying 60% and the House of Lords paying 40%.
