Catering subsidy (2015)
The net subsidy for each of the Commons catering outlets, for each of the past four years.
- The cost of catering for each House of Commons catering outlet for last four years.
Red bracketed text on the spread sheet denotes a contribution whereas black text denotes a cost. These figures exclude central support costs.
The House of Commons has more than halved total catering costs since the beginning of the last parliament. Catering services are provided for customers including 13,000 pass holders, as well as members of the public and visitors. Much of the net cost arises because of the irregular hours and unpredictability of parliamentary business. Food and drink prices are regularly reviewed and set at levels benchmarked against similar outlets outside of Parliament.
