Individual Members of the House of Lords as Controllers

Under data protection legislation, individual Members of the House of Lords may be controllers of personal data, If they are, they must provide the subject of the personal data with certain information. This standard privacy notice (pdf 126KB) provides information relating to personal data and Members’ parliamentary work.


If you have corresponded with a Member and they have directed you to this page, the Member considers that this privacy notice correctly describes the way that they process personal data in connection with their membership of the House.


This privacy notice does not cover any processing of personal data by a Member in any other capacity, such as in their private interests outside of their parliamentary work.
