Dissolution of Parliament

The dissolution of Parliament took place on Thursday 30 May 2024. All business in the House of Commons and House of Lords has come to an end. There are currently no MPs and every seat in the Commons is vacant until after the general election on 4 July 2024.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Europe, Leo Docherty MP, announced a written ministerial statement of 8 November 2022, replacing Stuart Anderson MP with the Rt Hon Wendy Morton MP, replacing Nusrat Ghani MP with Jason McCartney MP, replacing Bob Stewart MP with James Sunderland MP and replacing Abena Oppong-Asare MP with the Rt Hon Valerie Vaz MP.
