You know speaking to my energy company i got nothing but outright lies and subterfuge as regards smart meters. That they were mandatory when they were not...that they send info only once a day which patently they do not. Why? I'm one of the "crazy" people who thinks (knows) wifi harms them and the meter box is a few yards from my unfortunate chronically ill siuck bed. After 2 years of wifi w/o knowing it I'm sooo much worse. I've removed that source yet I'm now feeling constantly winded and punched in the solar plexus- better now but not gone- and now I have this to fight. All I want is recovery and to get back to work, which is clearly favourable to all and yet it's stacked against that. Governments set ewxposure levels etc, folk get ill and then are treated badly as folk lazy good for nothings. It's so messed up. These meters, for my neighbours, are right next to their children's bedrooms who are all between 1-3 years and developing. There is an inordinate amount proof that microwaves are bad and anyone who says different is incapable of honest, open minded, factual research. You watch the the people get more ill and aggressive. It's coming if you take this path.

smart meters are full of dangerous wi-fi technology and should be banned from the uk immediately. electromagnetic radiation is no joke, causes cancer and many other brain, heart and organ problems. the government is killing its people if it does not act to prevent and remove these from our lands.

As a sufferer of hyper electro sensitivity, EMF and intolerance to LED lighting, I oppose the use of Smart meters in the home and business environment. The UK Government needs to seriously open their eyes to and investigate the consequences of flooding the airwaves with damaging and life threatening wireless signals and radiation. Other European and Worldwide countries recognise hyper electro sensitivity, it's about time the UK recognised it as a genuine debilitating condition which can also affect the growth and development of our children and future generations.

This technology is being rushed through with no long-term study of it's potential effects. Microwave technology is not harmless by any means and prolonged exposure assesment must be carried out before the roll out to millions of homes.

I believe there needs to be much more research done on the health safety of smart meters before they are installed in homes in the UK. I am not satisfied that they are safe and have huge concerns about the impact they will have on public health, especially if they are installed in flats or terraced houses where there will be a lot of smart meters in close proximity to each other. Already public health may be compromised by the mass use of mobile phones and wireless technology. Smart meters will only add to the public health threat of a new technology that should be used cautiously until it is proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it does not cause health problems and/or tumours/cancer. It is a government's responsibility to protect the health of its people and a government should always err on the side of caution if there are any doubts about the safety of a proposed measure.

My grandaughter suffered severe side effects within one day of Smart meters being installed in her house without her consent. once installed it is virtually impossible for any company to agree to remove them.

I am completely opposed to these smart meters. They leak radiation, amongst other things and are a further infringement of our privacy rights. Many of us do not and will not have them in our homes.

I will not have one in my home. I am not a well person already, I will not put my health in further possible danger by having interference from these meters in my home. France are not even having wifi in their nurseries now. This is not needed or required, nor do I wish to pay for it on top of my bills already unaffordable ..... its getting ridiculous.

As a concerned layman who is more sensitive than most to environmental pollution the prospect of the Smart Meter roll out planned by the UK Government is both lamentable and alarming. Given the study I have done over the years into EMF pollution and the evidence (expert & anecdotal) I have collected about its insidious, adverse effects on the health of all living cells, I have sought to protect my family at home by using advanced & inexpensive neutraliser devices & wired connections wherever possible e.g. HomePlugs. Once I venture outside my home however, I will be at risk from the mounting electro fog which UK Smart Meters emit. This I consider is an invasion of my human rights. Therefore I urge your Committee to recommend that the UK Government cancel the Smart Meter Rollout. It is also important to take account of the fact that a variety of ingenious, green energy sources are proliferating at amazing speed. For example "Stand alone domestic power cells" are being rolled out in the US using a mixed variety of new technologies. The home owner is responsible for running these not a Power Company. Also one of the new & most efficient domestic heating radiators is the "infra-red panel" which warm objects rather than the air and & promotes healthy cell growth. I have two of these infra-red rads in my home and they are pleasant & economical to run. On the broader concern of increasing EMF pollution from Smart Meters, Routers, Tablets, Mobile Phones and Wi-Fi Gantries etc; a new replacement technology is in successful development. It is predicted to take over from Wi-Fi before 2020. The technology uses light waves instead of radio waves. Li-Fi is 100 times faster than Wi-Fi, far more secure and more importantly does not harm living things. Apple has just been reported as testing "LifiCapability in the Apple’s 9.1 iOS. It seems likely that the Next-Gen iPhone 7 will have the Li-Fi features in it". If the UK Government does not want to be stuck with an "unpopular white elephant" then I suggest it wakes up to reality about its current SM plan.
