What is Train the Trainer?
The aim of the Train the Trainer programme is to support organisations that want to access and deliver Parliamentary training, enabling their members and communities to learn about and engage with the work and processes of Parliament.
Courses are based in Westminster, however we welcome applications from across the UK - if you are accepted onto either course, travel and accommodation will be arranged for you as required. After completion of the course, trainers and organisations will benefit from access to approved resources, on-going regional support from an Outreach Officer and use of an approved trainer website kite mark.
What will participants learn?
Train the Trainer – Your Parliament and Campaigning
This one and a half day residential course includes the training of two modules:
- Your Parliament: An Introduction
- Take Action (focussing on campaigning)
The course will also include talks on committees, petitions and a tour of the Palace of Westminster, to support the learning of the two modules.
Next training: 29 and 30 May 2018, Houses of Parliament
Train the Trainer - Women in Parliament
This one day course is specifically tailored to organisations and trainers who work with women. Topics include:

The course will also include the opportunity to tour the Palace of Westminster.
Next training: 31 May 2018, Houses of Parliament.
Course learning materials
Trainers will be provided with course materials to help them deliver sessions about Parliament. These include a session plan, materials to support group exercises and presentations for each modules. There is also a list of suggested background reading for trainers and delegates.
The materials are designed to be adapted to different learning styles and can be used either as a stand-alone tool-kit or be incorporated into existing programmes.
Use of the resources is subject to a user agreement
