Free guided tours for UK residents

UK residents can book a free 'Inside UK Parliament' guided tour by contacting their Member of Parliament (MP) or a member of the House of Lords. If you want to take a tour within the next month you can also contact the bookings team directly.

What does the tour cover?

During this 75 minute tour, your guide will:

  • explain the work of UK Parliament and its relevance today
  • outline how the working spaces you visit on the tour are used
  • set out ways you can get involved and engage with the democratic process
  • highlight some of the dramatic history of the Palace of Westminster

When can I go on a tour?

During parliamentary sessions

Day Tours available between
Monday 9.00am to 12 noon
Tuesday 9.00am to 9.55am, 10.00am to 12 noon*
Friday 3.30pm to 5.00pm

*Slightly shorter tours which include the House of Lords, Central Lobby, St Stephen’s Hall and Westminster Hall, but not the House of Commons.

Conference Recess

Day Tours available between
Tuesday 10.30am to 5.00pm


Free guided tours for UK residents are not available on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Occasionally we may have to change or cancel tours due to the work of Parliament.
