Maternity services inquiry launched
27 May 2016
The Health Committee launches a short inquiry into maternity services following the publication of the National Maternity Review report ‘Better Births' to consider the outcome of the review and related maternity services policy, together with the plans to implement the recommendations contained in the review.
Oral evidence
The Committee intends to hold a single session of oral evidence with representatives of the review and implementation teams: further details to be announced in due course.
In addition to this initial overview, the Committee plans to hold regular hearings over the remainder of this Parliament to consider progress with the implementation of the recommendations of the review.
Written evidence
In advance of the session, the Committee invites brief written submissions (no more than 1500 words) setting out responses to the report of the National Maternity Review.
The Committee is particularly interested to hear of any issues of concern about the recommendations of the review or about the plans for implementation which should be raised with the review team.
Written evidence should be submitted by Friday 17 June 2016.
