That this House congratulates and agrees with the thousands of residents of Harpurhey in North Manchester who have signed a petition condemning the series People Like Us made by Dragonfly Film and Television Productions Ltd for BBC3, as presenting a distorted and unbalanced view of life in Harpurhey which has damaged the image and economic prospects of the area; notes that participants in the series have accused Dragonfly of unethical behaviour by plying young women with drink and then asking them to perform to their cameras; and calls on the BBC not to waste licence fee payers' money on a second series.
