That this House notes the Prime Minister's statement that university applications have risen for 2013 compared to 2012; andfurther notes that while there may be athree per cent increase compared to 2012, the number of students applying to university in England and Wales is actually down by 6.1 per cent compared to 2011, the year before tuition fees were trebled to a maximum of 9,000 by the Coalition Government.
