To ask Her Majesty's Government what action they plan to take in the light of the remarks by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights that the government of Bahrain's restrictions on human rights since June 2016 mean that "democratic space in the country has essentially been shut down".

The UK Government monitors events in Bahrain closely. We raise human rights concerns with the Bahraini authorities in private and in public and will continue to do so. We encourage the Government of Bahrain to deliver on its international and domestic human rights commitments.
