Israel: Occupied Territories
To ask Her Majesty's Government what is their response to the publication in June by the European Council on Foreign Relations of Israel's unlawfully prolonged occupation: consequences under an integrated legal framework.
Answered on: 25 September 2017

While the UK has not made a specific assessment of the European Council on Foreign Relations report, it has long been the Government's view that Israel's presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territories is governed by the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, to which Israel is a state party. We repeatedly call on Israel to abide by its obligations under international law and have a regular dialogue with Israel on legal issues relating to the occupation.
