The full costs of processing all UK passport applications are covered by passport fees which are set in accordance with HM Treasury Guidance – Managing Public Money and reviewed on an annual basis. All passport fee income and costs are published within the consolidated Home Office Annual report and Accounts, the latest published version for 2016-17 can be found here

The report for 2017-18 is due to be published before summer Parliamentary recess.
