The Department is committed to supporting every child to fulfil their potential, regardless of their background. The Department is continuing to work with the education sector to consider how best to encourage more disadvantaged pupils to apply to selective schools. We are still considering the responses to the ‘Schools that Work for Everyone’ consultation, which set out our plans for providing more good school places. The Department will be announcing our plans in response to this consultation in due course.
