We regularly discuss security and the underlying causes of violence, including religious and community tensions, with members of the Nigerian government. The Foreign Secretary has not raised the work of this particular Centre with his Nigerian counterpart.

Interfaith groups undoubtedly have an important role to play in reducing conflict and building bridges between communities. We will continue to work with the Nigerian government, non-governmental organisations and civil society to improve the security situation and human rights for all in Nigeria.
