Public Business

Children: child protection A question was asked by Baroness Gale and answered by Baroness Stowell of Beeston.
Violence against women and girls A question was asked by Baroness Gould of Potternewton and answered by Baroness Stowell of Beeston.
Small and medium-sized enterprises A question was asked by Lord Harrison and answered by Lord Marland.
Procedure of the House The Chairman of Committees moved that the 2nd Report from the Select Committee (HL Paper 54) be agreed to. The motion was agreed to.
Information Committee The Chairman of Committees moved that Baroness Seccombe be appointed a member of the Select Committee in place of Lord Feldman, resigned. The motion was agreed to.
Draft Care and Support Bill The Chairman of Committees moved that the Commons message of 20 November be considered and that a Committee of six Lords be appointed to join with the Committee appointed by the Commons to consider and report on the draft Care and Support Bill presented to both Houses on 11 July (Cm 8386) and that the Committee should report on the draft Bill by 7 March 2013;
That, as proposed by the Committee of Selection, the following members be appointed to the Committee:

B Jolly
L Mackay of Clashfern
B Pitkeathley
L Warner
That the Committee have power to agree with the Committee appointed by the Commons in the appointment of a Chairman;
That the Committee have power to send for persons, papers and records;
That the Committee have power to appoint specialist advisers;
That the Committee have leave to report from time to time;
That the Committee have power to adjourn from place to place within the United Kingdom;
That the reports of the Committee from time to time shall be printed, regardless of any adjournment of the House; and
That the evidence taken by the Committee shall, if the Committee so wishes, be published.
The motion was agreed to and a message was sent to the Commons.
Millennium Development Goals (Balloted debate) Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne moved that this House takes note of progress towards the successor framework to the Millennium Development Goals. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
Prisoners: voting Lord McNally repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.
China: multilateral nuclear disarmament (Balloted debate) Lord Browne of Ladyton moved that this House takes note of the case for intensified discussions on multilateral nuclear disarmament with China. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
10 Terrorism Act 2000 (Proscribed Organisations) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2012 Lord Taylor of Holbeach moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 19 November be approved. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
11  Religion in the United Kingdom A question was asked by Lord Singh of Wimbledon and, after debate, answered by Baroness Warsi.
The House adjourned at 6.47pm until Monday 26 November at 2.30pm .
