Public Business

House of Lords (Cessation of Membership) Bill [HL] Lord Steel of Aikwood moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
Draft Enhanced Terrorism Prevention and Investigations Measures Bill A message was brought from the Commons that they concur with the resolution of this House of 28 May relating to a Joint Committee to consider the draft Enhanced Terrorism Prevention and Investigations Measures Bill presented to both Houses on 1 September 2011 and that they have made the following orders:
That a select committee of six Members be appointed to join with the committee appointed by the Lords to consider the draft Enhanced Terrorism Prevention and Investigations Measures Bill;
That the committee should report on the draft bill by 9 November 2012;
That the committee shall have power:
(i) to send for persons, papers and records;
(ii) to sit notwithstanding any adjournment of the House;
(iii) to report from time to time;
(iv) to appoint specialist advisers; and
(v) to adjourn from place to place within the United Kingdom.
Smoke-free Private Vehicles Bill [HL] Lord Ribeiro moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
Caravan Sites Bill [HL] Lord Avebury moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
The House adjourned at 1.25pm until Monday 2 July at 2.30pm .
