20 May 2025
Members of the House of Lords began their detailed examination of the Sentencing Guidelines (Pre-Sentence Reports) Bill, in committee stage on Monday 19 May.

Members speaking at committee stage put forward amendments (PDF) (changes) to the bill on subjects including:
- preferred use of the term 'protected characteristics'
- discretion of the Sentencing Council
