The UK Parliament Study Programme (UKPSP) brings together parliamentary staff from around the world to learn about the procedures and practices of the UK Parliament and to share knowledge, ideas and experiences of parliamentary processes and administration.

This week, the Interparliamentary Relations Office (IPRO) welcomed eight colleagues from legislatures in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Mongolia, and Sierra Leone to Parliament.

The visit brings the UKPSP’24 programme to a close. The programme, organised by IPRO, ran between January and May 2024 and consisted of a variety of online meetings looking into a broad range of areas including: the work of the chambers, parliamentary scrutiny; engagement and outreach; and culture.

The visit had been due to take place in June but had been postponed due to the UK general election.

Participants of the programme had a full schedule while here which included meeting various teams from around Parliament, receiving tours of the Palace, and observing PMQs. They were even welcomed to Parliament by Mr Speaker upon their arrival on Monday morning.

IPRO would like to thank all our UK colleagues from both the House of Commons and House of Lords who collaborated to deliver a successful programme and visit.

Applications for next year’s programme have now closed.
