The dissolution of Parliament took place on Thursday 30 May 2024. All business in the House of Commons and House of Lords has come to an end. There are currently no MPs and every seat in the Commons is vacant until after the general election on 4 July 2024.

Three new Members of Parliament were elected to the House of Commons at by-elections held on Thursday 20 July 2023. 

 

Uxbridge and South Ruislip by-election 

Steve Tuckwell of the Conservative Party was elected the new Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip. 

The by-election was called following the resignation of Boris Johnson MP in June 2023. 

Selby and Ainsty by-election 

Keir Mather of the Labour Party was elected the new Member of Parliament for Selby and Ainsty. 

The by-election was called following the resignation of Nigel Adams MP in June 2023. 

Somerton and Frome by-election 

Sarah Dyke of the Liberal Democrats was elected the new Member of Parliament for Somerton and Frome. 

The by-election was called following the resignation of David Warburton MP in June 2023.
