Members ‘tidied up’ the Social Security (Up-rating of Benefits) Bill at third reading.

The House of Lords continued line by line examination of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill at committee stage.

In Grand Committee, members debated the Armed Forces Bill at committee stage.

Statement

Members questioned the government on an Oral Statement about COVID-19 vaccinations made in the House of Commons on Thursday 4 November. 

Tuesday 9 November

Questions

Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:

• the Sports Councils Equalities Group’s Guidance for Transgender Inclusion in Domestic Sport report
• the Sarah Everard murder inquiry
• the storage limit for gametes and embryos
• what plans they have to change the Ministerial Code.

Private Notice Question

Members questioned the government on food shortages in Afghanistan. 

Legislation

Members began detailed examination of the Professional Qualifications Bill at report stage.

The Environment Bill returned to the House of Lords for further consideration of Commons amendments. 

Wednesday 10 November

Questions

Members questioned the government on:

• hereditary peers by-elections
• the UK-EU Trade Cooperation Agreement
• the increase in the value of clinical negligence claims
• the build-up of Russian military forces on the border of Ukraine.

Statements

Members questioned:

• Cabinet Office minister Lord Frost on EU relations
• Government on COVID-19.

Urgent questions

Members quizzed the government following urgent questions on:

• racism in cricket
• renewed conflicts in the Western Balkans.

Legislation

The House of Lords continued line by line examination of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill as committee stage continues.

In Grand Committee the Rating (Coronavirus) and Directors Disqualification (Dissolved Companies) Bill began its committee stage .

The following Private Members’ Bills progressed onto third reading:

• Wellbeing of Future Generations Bill
• Status of Workers Bill
• Education (Assemblies) Bill.
