Questions
Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:
- Personal Independence Payments assessment
- conflict and humanitarian situation in Ethiopia
- art or music-based interventions in dementia care
- attendance of ministers of religion at scenes involving serious injury.
Statement
Members questioned government on the integrated rail plan for the north and midlands following a statement in the House of Commons on Thursday 18 November.
Legislation
Members continued line by line checks of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill and the Advanced Research and Invention Agency Bill at committee stage.
Members started detailed consideration of the Education (Environment and Sustainable Citizenship) Bill as committee stage began.
Tuesday 23 November
Questions
Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:
- ministerial attention to charities and civil society
- political repression in Zimbabwe
- Levelling Up Fund award to Isles of Scilly
- gender pay gap.
Legislation
Members started final examination of the Dormant Assets Bill at third reading.
The House of Lords gave further consideration to the Armed Forces Bill at report stage.
Wednesday 24 November
Questions
Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:
- takeover of UK NHS surgeries by American health insurance companies
- Financial Conduct Authority steps to prevent money laundering
- smoke-free pavements outside pubs and restaurants
- criteria for the appointment of the next Chair of Ofcom.
Members asked an urgent question to the government on the Windrush Compensation Scheme.

Members concluded line by line checks of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill at committee stage
Thursday 25 November
Questions
Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:
- designating House of Lords members as Politically Exposed Persons
- the White Ribbon campaign seeking to end male violence against women
- the international development strategy
- how many Afghan refugees accepted under Operation Warm Welcome are currently living in hotels.
Members questioned the government on small boats in the English Channel and army restructuring following statements made in the House of Commons.
Debates
After questions the House debated the following topics:
- reports of a genocide against the Uyghur population in Xinjiang
- the number of migrants arriving in the UK illegally by boats.
