Shadow Minister for Defence and Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Fabian Hamilton, asked ministers to make a statement on the awarding of the Defence Fire and Rescue project contract to Capita.
Minister for Defence, Tobias Elwood, assured MPs that contractual arrangements with Capita have been subject to testing and scrutiny that would ensure no break in service provision.
In response to the statement, Fabian Hamilton questioned the Minister on Capita's performance record and asked what arrangements were in place if Capita were unable to deliver the contract for its full duration of 12 years.
