MPs held an emergency debate on the Sewel Convention on Monday 18 June 2018, in the House of Commons.
The Sewel Convention applies when the UK Parliament legislates on a matter which is devolved to the Scottish Parliament.
The debate was opened by SNP Westminster Leader, Ian Blackford. The Secretary of State for Scotland, David Mundell, responded on behalf of the Government.

An emergency debate is a debate called at short notice in the House of Commons on a matter that should have urgent consideration. An MP may apply to the Speaker for an emergency debate under the rules of Standing Order No. 24.
