This week in the Commons, MPs debated the Saving (Government Contributions) Bill, the Neighbourhood Planning Bill, Aleppo and Syria, homelessness and more.

Legislation: Government Bills

Savings (Government Contributions) Bill

The Bill had its Report Stage and Third Reading in the Commons and has now progressed to the House of Lords.

Neighbourhood Planning Bill

The Bill had its Report Stage and Third Reading in the Commons and has now progressed to the House of Lords.

Legislation: Private Members' Bill

Two Private Members' Bills were introduced to the House following Ten Minute Rule Motions this week.

On Friday 16 December, MPs debated the Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence (Ratification of Convention) Bill. The Bill passed its Second Reading by 135 to 2 following a division and now progresses to Committee Stage.

The Second Reading debate of the Double Taxation Treaties (Developing Countries) Bill was adjourned and is expected to resume on 20 January 2017.
