Opposition day debate on careers services for young people

Shadow Secretary of State for Education, Andy Burnham, moved an Opposition day debate in the House of Commons on 13 September 2011 on careers services for young people.

The motion in the name of Andy Burnham, proposed that 2the Government should act urgently to guarantee face-to-face careers advice for all young people in schools". 

Minister of State for Education, Nick Gibb, responded on behalf of the Government. The House divided and the motion was negatived on division, (Ayes: 220, Noes: 288).
