Secretary of State for Defence, Philip Hammond, made a statement to the House of Commons on Tuesday 18 October on Afghanistan.
The Secretary of State updated MPs on progress in Afghanistan since the Prime Minister’s statement to the House of Commons on 6 July 2011. Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, Jim Murphy, responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.
