Wales round-up: 10 February 2010

10 February 2010

Oral questions

Oral questions provide an opportunity for MPs and Lords to ask Government ministers questions on the floor of each House. These questions are asked at the start of the day's business in both chambers.

Written questions

Written questions can be used by MPs or Lords to hold the Government to account, requesting information such as policy detail or statistics.

Early Day Motions

Early Day Motions (EDMs) are motions submitted for debate in the House of Commons. Although very few EDMs are actually debated, they can demonstrate the extent of parliamentary support for a particular cause or point of view.

Welsh Affairs Committee

The Welsh Affairs Committee's remit is to examine matters within the responsibility of the Secretary of State for Wales (including relations with the National Assembly for Wales).
