In a short ceremony at the beginning of business on 13 October, former Speaker of the House of Commons, Lord Martin of Springburn, was introduced in the House of Lords.
Introduction ceremonies take place in the Lords Chamber before each Member is able to take their seat in the House.
Lord Martin of Springburn is a life Peer and sits in the House as a Crossbencher. (It's traditional for all former Speakers of the Commons to sit as Crossbench Peers.)
