Baroness Royall of Blaisdon, Leader of the House of Lords, announced the publication of the Leader's Group report on the House of Lords Code of Conduct on 29 October.
Among its recommendations, the Group proposes the establishment of an independent House of Lords Commissioner for Standards to investigate complaints against Members, and a ban on Members accepting payment in return for parliamentary advice or services.
After the announcement, short comments were made by Members including Baroness Anelay of St Johns, Lord McNally, Lord Williamson of Horton and Lord Peston.
The Leader's Group report is expected to be discussed in the Lords on 30 November.
